2024 Finals

Wow… it’s taken us a few days to catch our breath and for the heart rates and blood pressure to be lowered after the epic game in Tumut on Saturday for the 1st Grade Preliminary Final.

After a frenetic first half in which 47 points were scored in the first 30 minutes of the game, Waratahs went to the half time break leading 26-21. The second half really tightened up with only 17 points scored in the final 50 minutes of the game – probably the opposite of what everyone would have expected coming into the match.

Tumut hit the lead 31-26 at the 55 minute mark and held that lead until Harry Tyson crossed for his third try of the day on the 73rd minute to tie it up at 31-31. With extreme pressure coming from the parochial Tumut Crown on the hill, Harry slotted the conversion which ended as the game winner. A huge sigh of relief from the Waratahs community and onwards and upwards to this weekend’s Grand Final.

Lastly, huge shout out to the Tumut Bulls 1st XV for a fantastic year as a team and club which they should be really proud of.
