Triple Triumph: Waratahs Celebrate Historic 2025 Season

The Wagga Wagga Waratahs have completed one of their most successful seasons to date, with the 1st Grade and Women’s sides both crowned premiers for 2025, alongside the club taking out the coveted Club Championship.

Waratahs 1st Grade Defend DevCore Title in Thriller

In a gripping grand final clash at Conolly Rugby Park, the Waratahs 1st Grade side triumphed 30–24 over archrivals Wagga City to claim the 2025 DevCore 1st Grade Premiership.

It was a fitting finale to a season of resilience and redemption. Just weeks earlier, the Waratahs had suffered a heartbreaking 22–20 defeat to Wagga City in the semifinals. That loss, however, became a turning point, fueling the team’s determination to rise on the biggest stage.

The victory marks the Waratahs’ third consecutive 1st Grade title, cementing their dominance as the powerhouse of the competition.

Women’s Side Reclaim Championship Crown

The Waratahs Women’s team also delivered on the big stage, defeating Griffith 19–14 in a hard-fought SIRU Macarthur REA Women’s Grand Final.

The victory is the Waratahs Women’s second championship in three years, having previously claimed the title in 2023. The result highlights not only the squad’s depth and versatility but also their ability to adapt and thrive under finals pressure.

Club Championship Secured

Capping off the season, the Waratahs were also awarded the 2025 Club Championship, recognising consistent excellence across all grades. This achievement, alongside the dual premiership victories, reflects the strength of the club both on and off the field.

A Season for the History Books

With the 1st Grade side defending their crown for a third straight year, the Women’s team reclaiming their title, and the entire club lifting the Club Championship, 2025 will go down as one of the most successful seasons in the Waratahs’ proud history.
